Football’s Michael Pratt Named A Davey O’Brien Award Semifinalist

Fort Worth, TX – Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt has been named as a semifinalist for the 2023 Davey O'Brien Award, the organization announced this afternoon. He is listed as one of 20 semifinalists for the award.
This year's class includes: Carson Beck (Georgia), Brady Cook (Missouri), Jayden Daniels (LSU), Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), Quinn Ewers (Texas), Dillon Gabriel (Oklahoma), Sam Hartman (Notre Dame), Drake Maye (North Carolina), J.J. McCarthy (Michigan), Jordan McCloud (James Madison), Kyle McCord (Ohio State), Jalen Milroe (Alabama), Bo Nix (Oregon), Michael Penix Jr. (Washington), Michael Pratt (Tulane), Kaidon Salter (Liberty), Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), Jordan Travis (Florida State), DJ Uiagalelei (Oregon State) and Caleb Williams (USC).
The finalist round Fan Vote opens and runs from Nov. 14-24. The finalists will be announced on Nov. 28. The winner round of the Fan Vote will go from Nov. 28- Dec. 1. The winner of the Davey O'Brien
The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the nation's best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award. The 47th Annual Davey O'Brien Awards Dinner honoring the winner will be held Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at The Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
This season, Pratt is 134-for-197 (68 percent) for 1,791 yards with 16 touchdown passes and an efficiency rating of 161.7. He is also second on the team with his 74 attempts for 273 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Pratt ranks second conference and is placed 14th nationally in completion percentage. He became Tulane's all-time leader in career touchdown passes earlier this season and has extended his career total to 84 passing scores. Pratt also moved into the top-10 on Tulane's all-time touchdowns accounted for list with his 28 (27 rushing and 1 receiving).
Tulane's defense leads the conference and is ranked fourth nationally in rushing yards allowed per game at 82.3. The squad also ranks fourth in the conference and 33rd in the country in sacks at 2.50 per game. The program ranks fifth in AAC in turnovers gained at 16. Individually, Lance Robinson leads the conference and is placed ninth in the country with his four interceptions. Darius Hodges and Patrick Jenkins are ranked fourth and seventh in the conference in sacks, respectfully. Ambrosio is placed second in the conference with his 1.50 field goals per game. He also ranks fourth in the league in field goal percentage (78.9). Lawrence Keys III leads the AAC in yards per catch at 18.15. Keys is also 10th in the league with his seven touchdowns scored. Jha'Quan Jackson is fifth in the conference in yards per reception at 17.54. Chris Brazzell II is placed 11th in the league in yards per catch (16.34). Makhi Hughes leads the conference in rushing with 1,008 yards. He is sixth in the league with six rushing touchdowns. Michael Pratt is third in the league in passing yards a completion at 13.37. Shedro Louis leads the league and ranks second in the country with his average of 31.5 yards a kick return.
