Raymond Breaks Own 100 Fly Record Twice on Friday

FRIDAY'S FINALS RESULTS
CLEVELAND, OH – The Tulane Swimming and Diving program hung onto fourth place (503 points) on the second day of competition at the Magnus Cup Invite in Cleveland and currently sits just 56 points behind Florida Gulf Coast's second-place total.

During the course of both sessions Friday, Tulane had 57 marks that qualified as either a season-best, Tulane-best or lifetime-best across 16 student-athletes. The morning session alone produced 24, 12 and eight in those three categories.

Victoria Raymond broke her own 100 Fly school record TWICE on Friday, swimming a 52.86 mark in the prelims, while bettering that by a tenth in the finals session, where she posted a second-place finish. The time qualifies under the NCAA's "B" standard. Raymond's third-place 1:49.74 in the 200 Free put her ninth in the school's records and is another NIC Bonus Cut.

Raymond also set the school's sixth-fastest 50 Free time in the morning (23.28) and recorded an NIC Automatic Cut in the 50 Fly with a time of 24.42.

Gwen Shahboz posted a runner-up finish in the 400 IM as well, with a time of 4:23.12 to move into 10th in the school's all-time top 10.

Riley Hendrix (26.02) and Andrea Zeebe (26.43) each swam leadoff 50 Back legs in the 200 Medley Relay and both produced times that are Bonus Cuts for the NIC. Grace Dale (27.14) also posted a season and lifetime-best 50 Back time.

In the 400 IM, Zeebe (4:24.88) achieved a season-best, a Tulane-best and that mark was a Bonus Cut, as well. Her 100 Back leading off the Medley Relay on Thursday (55.58) was also the ninth-fastest in school history.

Paula Gaya Bisquerra not only achieved a new season-best in the 100 Breast with her time of 1:03.75 but set a new Tulane-best and is now eighth in the all-time Top Ten.Â

In the 1-meter diving competition, Katie Lipsey finished fourth with Paige McKenzie following in seventh. Both scored for the Wave.Â
