Green Wave Continues to Excel in Graduation Success Rate
Dec 7, 2023 | General
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics boasted eight programs that posted 100 percent graduation success rates for those student-athletes who enrolled between the fall of 2013 and the fall of 2016, the NCAA has reported.
Baseball, men's basketball, men's tennis, women's basketball, beach volleyball, bowling, golf and indoor volleyball met the standard of perfection.
The Green Wave's student-athletes graduated at a rate of 93 percent during that period, two points higher than the NCAA's average.
Additionally, all 17 of the Green Wave's programs exceeded the federal rate by at least 14 percent.
"Tulane has always had a tremendous tradition of excellence in the classroom," said incoming Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair David Harris. "Everyone involved, from student-athletes to coaches to staff, all play a role in meeting this standard and this news is a reflection of that effort."
Since the implementation of the GSR, Division I members have adopted impactful academic reforms and initiatives, including modifications of initial-eligibility requirements and progress-toward-degree standards, as well as application of the Academic Performance Program. Those reforms have helped pave the way for exponential graduation success.
