
Tulane Golf Kicks off Spring Season with Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University golf team kicks off its spring season at home with the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein.

The tournament tees off at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.

This is the second year Brownstein has sponsored the event held at the English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans.

The tournament will feature 18 Division I universities from across the country. Purdue, Charleston Southern, Rutgers, Chattanooga, Howard, Wichita State, Missouri State, South Dakota, Cal Poly, Boston College, Arkansas State, Incarnate Word, Memphis, Southern Mississippi, Iowa, Central Arkansas, UTEP round out the field.

Tulane will place Carla Bernat, Matilde Innocenti, Carlota Palacios, Miriam Emmert and Cleo Liu in the lineup.

The Green Wave comes off a successful fall in which they finished in the top 10 in all five tournaments, while finishing in the top five in three.

Entering the spring Tulane is ranked 62nd in the country. Bernat ranks 24th in the country, the second highest ranked played in the American Athletic Conference. She averages 70.68 per round.

Bernat also won two individual titles last fall at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate and the Jim West Challenge, earning AAC Golfer of the Month Honors.
