
Tulane Finishes 11th in Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the final regular season regatta of the spring Tulane University Sailing finished 11th out of 19 teams at the 85th Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup in 14th on Sunday. The Green Wave recorded a final total score of 410 total points across three divisions to land 19 points away from a top 10 finish.
Tulane was led by the duo of Thad Lettsome and Alex Makoid in the B Division finishing with 101 total points. The Wave posted four top three finishes in the final four races of the regatta, including two first place finishes to land fifth in the B Division.
The next best team for the Green Wave was Zander King, Ella May Corckran, and Raquel Shulman who landed ninth in the C Division. Tulane finished in the top 10 in each of the final four races Sunday to end the regatta with 130 total points in the division.
Rounding out the sailors for Tulane were Asher Zittrer, Matheo Capasso, and Gillian Perrell with a 16th place finish in the A Division. The Green Wave ended with 179 total points through all 14 races in the regatta.
Up next, the Green Wave will compete in the 2023 ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship on Saturday and Sunday. Tulane enters the championship as the fifth seed out of 12 teams. The regatta will be host by Stanford University in Stanford, California.
