
Swimming & Diving Finishes First Day of Dual Meet Against Liberty

LYNCHBURG – The Tulane swimming and diving team is trailing Liberty by a 102-65 score after the first day of the dual meet between the schools at the Liberty Natatorium on Friday, Oct. 18. The Green Wave won three events on the opening day and had 12 top-three finishes.
Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou won the 200 fly with her time of 2:01.47.
Paige McKenzie earned the victory in 3-meter diving with a score of 236.35.
Andrea Zeebe won the 400 IM with her time of 4:26.31.
The 4x100 medley relay team of Zeebe, Gwen Shahboz, Catherine Russo and Maya Wilson finished as the runner-up in their event with a 3:48.85.
Lise Coetzee placed second in the 500 free (5:00.10).
Maya Wilson took second in the 100 free (51.69).
The 4x50 free relay team of Coetzee, Olcaytu Hatipoglu, Russo and Wilson placed second in their event (1:35.64)
Paula Gaya Bisquerra earned second in the 100 breast (1:05.23).
Zeebe earned third in the 200 back (2:03.07).
Phoebe Johnson placed third in the 200 fly (2:06.73).
Shahboz ranked third in both the 100 breast (1:05.76) and in the 400 IM (4:27.01).
