Bowling Ranked Fourth Following First Day of Track Kat Klash

HOUSTON – Tulane Bowling kicked off the first day of the Track Kat Klash today, winning three games and ending the day ranked fourth out of 19 teams. The Green Wave totaled 4,683 pins from their five matches and notched victories over Adelphi, Newman, and Lewis.
Tulane began the day against Central Missouri and McKendree, but fell in both, finishing with total pin counts of 923-884 and 930-861. Tulane won three games against Central Missouri, taking the first, fourth, and fifth 180-170, 192-182, 191-180. They gave the second and third to the Mules 202-180 and 189-141.Â
Against McKendree, Tulane won the first game 156-142 and the fourth 187-173. McKendree took the remaining games 199-168, 216-165, and 200-185.
Tulane picked up its first win against Adelphi University, defeating them 917-836. The Green Wave nearly swept the Bearcats, only dropping the second game 198-143. Tulane claimed the rest 203-139, 179-161, 220-190, and 172-148.Â
Tulane then took on Newman University and beat them 968-935. Tulane swept games 2-5 with scores of 181-167, 216-213, 194-156, and 221-169 and only dropped game one, ending the contest with 230-156.
Finally, Tulane beat Lewis University 1053-891. Tulane shut out Lewis, winning the games with scores of 210-198, 215-188, 209-164, 229-158, and 190-183.Â
Tulane trails first-place Arkansas State, second-place Sam Houston, and third-place Stephen F. Austin.
Tomorrow, Tulane will compete in five traditional matches against Stephen F. Austin, Maryville, Oklahoma Christian, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Alabama State.Â
