Bowling Kicks Off Colonial Lanes Classic

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Bowling held the first day of their first and only home tournament of the year, the Colonial Lanes Classic. The Green Wave went 3-2 in matches and ended the day in eighth place with 4,771 points.Â
Tulane took on Stephen F. Austin for its first match of the day and beat them 1,009 - 916. The Green Wave took games one (206-191), two (203-195), four (223-159), and five (206-183), only dropping game three (188-171).Â
Tulane then faced Emmanuel, who marginally defeated the Green Wave 922-915. Tulane took games one (192-178) and two (202-196), but the Lions nabbed three (186-181), four (184-183), and five (178-157).Â
Alabama St. narrowly beat Tulane during the third match 938-932. Tulane won games one (203-184), three (204-159), and four (203-189), while the Hornets took two (213-153) and five (193-169).Â
Tulane won the last two matches of the day versus Prairie View (967-936) and Oklahoma Christian (948-933). Tulane took games two (210-184), three (202-158), and five (217-189) while Prairie View took one (168-146) and four (237-192). Against Oklahoma Christian, Tulane won games one (193-188), three (203-192), and five (190-165), while the Eagles took two (179-177) and four (209-185).Â
Tomorrow, Tulane will take on North Carolina A&T, Alabama A&M, Sam Houston, Wichita State, and Newman in traditional matches beginning at 8:55 a.m.Â
Sacred Heart currently sits in first, with Vanderbilt in second and North Carolina A&T in third.Â
