
Swimming & Diving Earns Second at the Eagle Holiday Splash

Ft. Myers, Fla. – The Tulane swimming and diving team won seven events and had 18 top three individual finishes to earn second overall with 213.5 points at the 2024 Eagle Holiday Bash in Ft. Myers, Fla. at FGCU Aquatics Complex on Thursday.
Maya Wilson won a pair of individual events in the 75 free (37.18) and the 25 free (11.01). She also ranked second in the 50 fly (25.15).
Gwen Shahboz earned the 200 IM victory (2:05.39) and was second in both the 25 back (13.11) and the 200 breast (2:20.05)
Anna Behrman took the title in the 3-meter dive with 222.55 points.
Andrea Zeebe won the 200 back (2:02.91) and was second in the 50 back (26.94) and the 200 IM (2:06.54).
Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou won the 200 butterfly (2:03.21).
Catherine Russo was the victor in the 25 fly (11.40), placed second in the 50 free (23.86) and took third in the 75 free (37.85).
The 200 medley relay team is Zeebe, Emma Brady, Wilson and Russo were the runner up in their event with a 1:44.04.
Lise Coetzee placed second in the 500 free (5:01.68).
Paige McKenzie earned third in the 1-meter dive with 217.20 points.
The 100 free relay team of Russo, Coetzee, Wilson and Olcaytu Hatipoglu took third in their event with a 45.79.
Tulane will next compete in the FIU Speed Invitational on Jan. 4 in Miami, Florida. Tulane will next be at home on Jan. 25, 2025 for a dual meet against Little Rock. The team wraps up the home schedule and regular season by hosting West Florida on Feb. 1 at 1:30 p.m. The 2025 AAC Swimming Championship will be held from Feb. 19-22 in Dallas, Texas at SMU.
