
No. 19 Tulane Bowling Opens Campaign at SWIBC I & II

The No. 19 Tulane University bowling team is set to begin the 2025-26 season this weekend with a pair of Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (SWIBC) tournaments on October 4 and 5 in Fort Worth, Texas. The SWIBC I and II will be held at City View Lanes Saturday and Sunday.

The opening day of competition will be the SWIBC I on Saturday, October 4. Play begins at 9:00 a.m. with four traditional team matches. Ten baker games will follow.

Sunday, October 5, will be the second day of play as the SWIBC II. It will feature five traditional team matches starting at 8:30 a.m.

The events feature upward of 15 teams competing, including fellow Conference USA member Louisiana Tech.

For the completed 2024-25 season, Paige Matiasek led Tulane with her 410 strikes thrown. She was followed by Emma Fetterman with 405 and Mia Stolakis with 401.

The 2025-26 roster includes returners Matiasek, Fetterman, Solakis, Emma Figert, Linnea Holcomb, and Juanelyz Solla. They are joined by a trio of newcomers – Valeria Colon, Sarah Rubi, and Lyllian Smith. The Green Wave are led by head coach Hayley Veitch in her 14th season.

Tulane enters the weekend ranked No. 19 in the nation via the NTCA preseason poll. All 12 CUSA members are ranked in the poll, including last season's national champion Youngstown State (No. 4) and last season's national runner up Jacksonville State (No. 1).

After opening the season this weekend, the Wave will then set their sights on Destination Orlando, hosted by Sacred Heart in Orlando, Florida, from October 24 to 26.
