Juanelyz Solla Named Puerto Rico Bowling Federation’s 2025 Most Outstanding Athlete

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane junior bowler Juanelyz Solla has been named the 2025 Most Outstanding Athlete of the Year by the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee Bowling Federation. The San Juan native was honored in person yesterday afternoon in Trujillo Alto by the committee.

The distinction caps off a stellar year for Solla for both school and country. Solla notched four top-20 results for Tulane in the 2025 calendar year, including a top-10 placement to open the fall portion of the 2025-26 slate in the SWIBC I. So far this season, she owns 84 strikes and 90 spares.

Representing her nation, Solla participated in the Puerto Rico U21 team trials in June to earn a spot on the Puerto Rican U21 National Team as announced in July. In August, Solla placed second in the U21 Singles at the 2025 PANAM Youth Bowling Championship as a representative of Puerto Rico.

The Green Wave will return to action in January with a pair of Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (SWIBC) tournaments. The SWIBC V and VI take place on January 17 and 18, respectively, in Plano, Texas.
