Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou Leads Swimming On Third Day of the National Invitational Championships

Ocala, Fla. – The Tulane swimming team was led by Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou on the third day of the National Invitational Championships on Saturday, March 15, in Ocala, Fla. at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Facility. The swim team totaled 58 points on the third day and ended the competition with 133 total points plus a final ranking of 24th overall.
Petropoulou and Andrea Zeebe were the team's highest individual finishers. Petropoulou took eighth in the 200 fly with a 2:00.71 to earn 15 points. Zeebe took eighth in the 200 back with a 1:57.91 to also earn 15 points. Both swimmers were also part of the 400 free relay team along with Olcaytu Hatipoglu and Lise Coetzee that placed 23rd and earned 18 points.
Coetzee also earned points for the team in a pair of individual events as she placed 12th in the 1000 free with a 10:08.31 to earn nine points and 20th in the 1650 free with a 16:57.98 to earn a point.
Next Tulane's swimming and diving team starts off-season training for the 2025-26 campaign.
