
Swimming & Diving Totals 35 Season Bests on Final Day of Phill Hansel

HOUSTON, TX – The Tulane swimming and diving team had 35 season bests, an NIC A cut, seven NIC B cuts, four top 10 school marks and four top 10 event marks on the final day of the Phill Hansel Invitational on Friday at the CRWC Natatorium. Over the course of the weekend the program recorded 108 season bests, 25 NIC B cuts, three NIC A cuts, 20 top 10 event marks and eight top 10 school tallies. The program finished seventh overall of 11 teams with 714.5 points.
The program was led by freshman Eliza Lennox on the final day. Lennox finished as the runner-up in the 100 free with a 49.16. The time was an NIC A cut and ranks her No. 2 all-time at Tulane in the event.
Andrea Zeebe placed sixth overall in the 200 back (1:57.92).
The 400 free relay team of Lennox, Lise Coetzee, Rafaela Sumida and Zeebe earned eighth in their event (3:22.36).
Coetzee earned ninth in the 1650 free (16:50.36).
Taylor Cekay was the program's top finisher in the platform diving with a 185.70. Her point total is sixth all-time at Tulane.
Danielle Barberie swam a 2:16.29 in the preliminaries of the 200 breast. Her time ranks fourth all-time in the event. Paula Gaya Bisquerra also reached the top 10 in the event in the Tulane record book, No. 6, with her 2:16.89 in the finals.
Next, Tulane sends qualifiers to compete in the Open Water Championships in Sarasota, Fla on Dec. 13. The next team competition for the program is at the UNLV Invitational from Dec. 15-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The program finished the 2024-25 season with 54 top 10 school marks including 10 school records. The team also won six events, had 28 overall all conference marks, a placing of third overall at the league championship meet plus saw Head Coach Amanda Caldwell along with her staff being named the American's Coaching Staff of the Year. The program also had 10 qualify to participate in the National Championship Invitational this season, three divers that earned bids to the Zone D Diving Championship, had four swimmers named to the Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators and six that were CSCAA Scholar All-Americans. Additionally the program had nine NCAA 'B' cuts, placed fifth at the CSCAA Open Water Championships and rack up 10 American Conference Weekly honors (five swimmers of the week, two freshman swimmers of the week, two freshman divers of the week and one conference diver of the week).
