
Bowling Closes Year at C-USA Championships

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Bowling wrapped their season this week at the 2025 Conference USA Championship after three days of competition. The Wave defeated LA Tech on Wednesday, March 19, but were eliminated from contention after falling to Wichita State and Jacksonville
The teams compete in a best-of-three matches, beginning with one baker match and one traditional. A tiebreaker in the form of a best of seven is held if needed.
Tulane kicked off the tournament with a 2-1 win over Louisiana Tech. The Wave won the traditional match first, 976-960. Blanca Fraticelli led with 221; Emma Fetterman also broke 200 with 202. Paige Matiasek followed with 196, Mia Stolakis with 193, and Nancy Kohut with 163.
Tech won the baker match 986-945 but Tulane clinched the round after a 4-2 win in the best 4-of-7 match. Tulane took games one (207-172), two (246-195), three (186-171), and six (225-190). LA Tech claimed four (212-201) and five (206-190).
Tulane faced Jacksonville State in the second round of competition, who emerged 2-0 over the Wave on Thursday, March 20.
Jax State won the traditional match 1040-996 as well as the baker match 1040-956. Stolakis and Matiasek both kocked over 220 while Fetterman felled 204. Kohut and Fraticelli contributed 193 and 169.
In the third round, Wichita State defeated Tulane 2-1. The Shockers had game one 1082-985. Fraticelli led once more with 214, closely followed by Fetterman's 212. Kohut had 202, Stolakis 193, and Matiasek 164.
Tulane came back to win the baker 1024-970. Wichita State finished the day by taking match three with wins in games one (246-216), three (202-143), four (218-182), and five (198-190), while the Wave had game two (202-133).
Jax State, Wichita State, Sam Houston, and Arkansas State remain in competition for the championship.
