
Women’s Basketball Cancels This Week’s Rescheduled South Florida Game

NEW ORLEANS– The American Athletic Conference has announced that the previously rescheduled women's basketball game between Tulane and South Florida, set for Thursday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. at Avron B. Fogelman Arena at Devlin Fieldhouse has been canceled.
With the 2025 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship seeding now finalized, the outcome of the game would have had no impact on the tournament bracket.
The American Basketball Championship will take place from March 8-12. First-round match-ups will be held at the Super Pit in Denton, Texas, while the remainder of the tournament will return to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, for the fifth consecutive year.
Tulane (16-12, 9-8 AAC) enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed and will face-off against No. 11 seed Wichita State (10-21, 4-14 AAC) at 8 p.m. CT in the Second Round in the fifth game of the tournament on Sunday, March 9.
The winner of the Second Round single-elimination game advances to play in game nine against No. 3 seed South Florida (20-10, 13-4 AAC) in the Quarterfinals on Monday, March 10 at 8 p.m.
The Green Wave are 2-0 against Wichita State this season after defeating the Shockers 66-62 on the road on Jan. 15 and by a 68-64 score at home on Feb. 22.
Tulane is being led into the tournament by Sherese Pittman. Pittman is averaging 14 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She is one of four Green Wave players that is averaging in double figures along with Kyren Whittington (11.8 pts. per game), Amira Mabry (10.9 pts. per game) and Kendall Sneed (10.8 pts. per game). Victoria Keenan has been the squad's top three-point shooter with 74 made threes while shooting 44.3 percent from distance.
