Green Wave Leads After Round One in Denver

DENVER, Colo. - Tulane women's golf leads the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at the University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch, with Sophia Macias, Francesca Pompa and Sophia Chen all shooting under par during the first round of play. The Green Wave carded a team score of 279 (-9) with 22 birdies on Friday.Â

Macias leads the tournament individually, tied for first with a 67 (-5) score and six birdies at the end of round one. Pomp finished the opening round with a score of 68 (-4) and five birdies, ending the day in fourth place. Chen followed with a 71 (-1) score and four birdies tying for 11th, while Daniela Montolio Reyes recorded a score of 73 (+1) with two birdies to sit tied for 28th. Cristina Albertazzi rounded out the Green Wave lineup with a 74 (+2) score and five birdies, tying for 33rd.

The Green Wave will continue the competition with the second round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Saturday. The second round will begin Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.Â
