Tulane Sits Second Heading Into Final Round

DENVER, Colo. – Sophomore Sophia Macias sits in first place individually through two rounds at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at the University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch after posting her second round under par. The Green Wave holds second place in the tournament after two rounds of play. Cristina Albertazzi shooting an eagle after the second round.Â
The Green Wave recorded a team score of 290 (+2) on Saturday after scoring 279 (-9) in the opening round on Friday. Tulane enters the final round with a two-round total 569 (-7) and 37 birdies.Â
Macias posted a score of 71 (-1) with four birdies in the second round after scoring 67 (-5) with six birdies in the first round. Macias heads into the final with a two-round total of 138 (-6), still in first place individually.
Francesca Pompa carded a score of 72 (E) in the second round with five birdies after posting 68 (-4) and five birdies in the first round. Her two-round total of 140 (-4) has her tied for fourth heading into the final round.
Sophia Chen followed with a 72 (E) score in the second round, recording four birdies. Chen finished the first round with a score of 71 (-1) and four birdies. She enters the third and final round with a two-round total of 143 (-1), tied for 12th.
Albertazzi recorded a 74 (+2) score and five birdies in the opening round before finishing the second round with a score of 75 (+3), one birdie, and a single eagle. Albertazzi enters the final round with a two-round total of 149 (+5), tied for 41st.
Daniela Montolio Reyes carded a score of 73 (+1) with two birdies in the first round before finishing the second round with a 77 (+6) score and one birdie. Reyes enters the final round with a two-round total of 150 (+6), tied for 44th.Â
UP NEXT
The Green Wave will finish the competition with the final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Sunday. The third round will begin with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
