Pompa Claims American Conference Player of the Month Honors

NEW ORLEANSÂ -Â Tulane women's golf junior Francesca Pompa was named the American Conference Women's Player of the Month for September by the league on Tuesday.Â

Pompa earned the honor after finishing first individually at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein. She recorded a three-round score of 212 (-4), carding rounds of 72 (E), 71 (-1) and 69 (-3). She recorded 12 birdies, tying for the most in the tournament, and was one of just seven players in the field to record an eagle. Pompa also helped lead the Green Wave to the team championship.Â

Pompa followed her individual championship with another strong performance at the Schooner Fall Classic, finishing tied for 18th with a three-round score of 207 (-3). She carded rounds of 69 (-1), 71 (+1) and 67 (-3), including nine birdies throughout the tournament.

Across the two September tournaments, Pompa totaled 21 birdies and one eagle, while recording two top-20 finishes and an individual championship.

The Green Wave will be on the road again when it travels to Lihu'e, Kaua'i, for the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. This three-day tournament will begin Monday, Oct. 19, and conclude Wednesday, Oct 21. Tulane will compete against Long Beach State, Appalachian State, Prairie View A&M, Eastern Michigan, San Diego State, Nevada, Washington State, Osaka Gakuin, Grand Canyon, California State Sacramento, Brigham Young, Kansas State, and host Hawai'i.
