
Tulane Sits 13th at Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational Through Two Rounds

FORT WORTH, Texas – Tulane women's golf finished the opening day of the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational hosted by TCU in 13th place on Monday. The Green Wave recorded a total team score of 612 (+52) through the first two rounds of competition at the par 70 course at Colonial Country Club.
Sophomore Francesca Pompa led the way for the Wave on the first day of play in the two-day tournament. She opened with a 77 (+7) with one birdie in her first round before closing the day with a 73 (+3) including two more birdies in her second round. Through 36 holes Pompa is tied for 59th in the field with a two-round score of 150 (+10).
Next up in the standings for Tulane was Sophia Chen with a 36-hole score of 151 (+11 – 74, 77) on Monday. She started with one birdie in the first round to record a 74 (+4) in the round. Chen added two more birdies in her second round while posting a 77 (+7) in her second round of 18 holes.
The duo of Cristina Albertazzi and Sophia Macias both ended the first day of competition tied for 71st overall with two-round scores of 156 (+16). Albertazzi shot an 81 (+11) in the first round followed by a 75 (+5) in round two. Macias recorded two birdies across the two rounds on Monday while posting a 76 (+6) in the first round and an 80 (+10) in the second round.
Rounding out the group for the Green Wave was Gabriella Gilrowski holding 75th overall with a 36-hole score of 160 (+20 – 80, 80).

Tulane will tee off for the third and final round of the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday morning. Gilrowski will be the first player to start for the Wave at 9:40 a.m. followed by Macia (9:50 a.m.), Albertazzi (10 a.m.), Chen (10:10 a.m.), and Pompa (10:20 a.m.) on hole 10.
