Tulane Women's Tennis Heads to the American Championship to Play UTSA

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's tennis team is set to compete in the American Conference Championship beginning Thursday in Houston, Texas. The four-day tournament will be held at George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice University.Â

The women's championship opens with three first-round matches Thursday and continues through the final on Sunday, April 19. The champion will earn the American's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships.

The Green Wave earned the No. 7 seed and will face No. 10 seed UTSA at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 16. With a win, Tulane would advance to face No. 2 seed Charlotte on Friday afternoon.Â

Tulane is 4-1 all-time against UTSA and most recently defeated the Roadrunners on Feb. 20 in New Orleans. Both teams are coming off wins last weekend, with UTSA earning a 5-1 victory over Lamar and Tulane sweeping Nicholls 7-0 in Thibodaux.
