No. 17 Tulane Falls to Cumberland at USBC ITC

GREEN BAY, Wisc. – The 17^th-ranked Tulane bowling team saw its season come to an end Saturday afternoon at The Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Green Wave gave a tough fight in the second day of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC), but Tulane fell 4-1 to Cumberland to be eliminated from the competition.

In day one yesterday, Tulane earned the No. 11 seed after the morning qualifying rounds. The Wave then went 1-1 in the beginning of the bracket portion. The loss moved Tulane into the losers' bracket for today's action, where the Wave awaited the winner of the morning's opening tilt between Cumberland and Trine.

A Cumberland victory set up the contest between the Wave and the Phoenix. Tulane opened the best-of-seven Baker match with a 177-170 victory to take an early edge in the contest. However, Cumberland pushed back to pull level with a narrow 183-181 win. The Phoenix kept its momentum going with a 230-189 win in game three, and a 202-185 victory for Cumberland followed to make the match 3-1. Game five ended the contest, as Cumberland won 234-176 to claim an overall 4-1 triumph.

With the loss, the 2025-26 campaign comes to a close for the Green Wave. Tulane will now turn its sights to the 2026-27 season, which will start up in the fall.
