Morris and Hansen Named CUSA Co-Pair of the Week

DALLAS – Conference USA announced today its beach volleyball pair of the week honorees for action during the week concluding April 19. Tulane's second flight of Emma Morris and Katie Hansen were named the co-pair of the week alongside Florida Atlantic's Denisse Morgenstern and Shantel Starling.

This is the fourth time in program history a Tulane tandem has earned CUSA Pair of the Week recognition. Hansen and Morris are the first Tulane pairing to notch the honor since April 26, 2023, when Samantha Mehlman and Emily Heintzelman won the award.

Competing at the second flight last weekend in the NOLA Classic at White Sands Volleyball Courts, Hansen and Morris went a perfect 5-0 without dropping a set. The weekend opened with a sweep against No. 20 Arizona, the pair's third ranked victory of the campaign. They earned set wins of 21-17 and 21-19. Against ULM, they won both sets by a margin of 21-15, and they concluded day one by defeating UNO's No. 2 pair 21-19 and 21-8. Day two opened with a tilt against conference foe FIU, which Morris and Hansen handled via sets of 21-11 and 21-15. The weekend closed out with a sweep of Southern Miss, 24-22 and 21-19.

Hansen and Morris are currently on a nine-match win streak, including eight in a row at the No. 2 pair. This is their longest streak of the campaign and one shy of the longest by a Tulane tandem this season (10, Skylar Ensign and Molly Trodd).

Tulane will be back on the sand this week at the CUSA Championship in Youngsville, Louisiana. The Green Wave is the No. 5 seed heading into the event and will open against No. 4 South Florida at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Sugar Beach.
