Six Tulane Student-Athletes Named CSC Academic All-District At-Large
Jun 17, 2026 | Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced the 2026 Academic All-District® At-Large honorees as selected by the organization to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. A total of six Green Wave student-athletes were honored between two sports with five beach volleyball players and one bowler securing nods.
Sarah Rubi was the lone selection for the Tulane bowling program. She was joined by a quintet of beach volleyball players: Amirah Ali, McKenzie Cutler, Skylar Ensign, Katie Hansen, and Sam O'Connor.
This is not the first academic recognition of any of the six honorees this year. All six were named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll with Rubi, Ensign, and O'Connor securing the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal as well. Rubi also garnered CUSA All-Academic Team honors.
Athletically, a trio of the beach volleyball contingent claimed All-CUSA recognition with Ensign and Hansen being named to the first team and Ali to the second team. Furthermore, Ensign was one half of the CUSA Pair of the Tournament, and she was joined by Hansen and Ali on the CUSA All-Tournament Team. Ensign and Hansen both earned AVCA Top Flight recognition. In the NCAA Tournament against UCLA, the eventual national champion, Cutler and O'Connor won their first set at the fourth flight to become the first Tulane pairing to ever claim a set in the NCAA Tournament despite their match going unfinished.
The Tulane beach volleyball team won the 2026 CUSA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, both program firsts. Tulane finished the season ranked No. 20 in the AVCA coaches poll. The Green Wave bowling program was a top-25 team throughout the entire season, which saw Tulane defeat the defending national champion Youngstown State in the CUSA Tournament. The Wave qualified for and competed in the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. Tulane concluded the campaign at No. 18 in the rankings.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 7.
