Tulane Beach Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced the collegiate and high school volleyball teams that have been honored with the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award alongside the recipients of the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll distinction, of which the Tulane beach volleyball program earned both. The Green Wave is one of 1,432 total honorees of the team academic award.
To receive the AVCA Team Academic Award, a program must maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll is awarded to programs in the top 20 percent for their division. Among the 1,432 total teams recognized, a record 43 are women's collegiate beach programs.
Tulane excelled in the classroom this season with all 16 members of the team earning Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll recognition. Nine of the 16 players earned the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal: Amirah Ali, Skylar Ensign, Tawny Ensign, Tara Gaspar, Lauren Mann, Emma Morris, Sam O'Connor, Molly Trodd, and Giorgia Walther. Additionally, Skylar Ensign, O'Connor, Katie Hansen, Ali, and McKenzie Cutler were all named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large.
Further highlighting the individual academic honors are Skylar Ensign and Emma Morris. Ensign was named as the CUSA Scholar-Athlete of the Year for beach volleyball, and Morris earned a spot on the CUSA All-Academic Team.
The Wave added plenty of success on the sand, too, posting a 26-14 record en route to winning the CUSA championship. This was the sixth consecutive 20-win season for the program with the conference title marking the first in program history. Head coach Eyal Zimet was named CUSA Coach of the Year upon the campaign's conclusion.
