
Tulane Elevates Forrest Barnes to Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Enhancement

NEW ORLEANS — Tulane University is proud to announce the promotion of Forrest Barnes to the position of Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Enhancement. Barnes has served as the unit's Associate Director since May 2025.
With over a decade of diverse experience in youth sports, recreational programming, intercollegiate athletics, and professional sports, Barnes' career includes roles at the University of Arkansas, University of Houston, VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa, Tiffin University, and USA Football, showcasing his commitment to excellence and servant leadership.
Barnes will now oversee the W.A.V.E. Student-Athlete Enhancement Program, a key initiative that champions the holistic success of all Tulane student-athletes by providing personal, professional, and leadership development opportunities. He will also coordinate the athletic department's community service endeavors, reinforcing Tulane's commitment to community engagement and student-athlete growth.
The department completed more than 6,700 hours of community service during the course of the 2025-26 school year, which generated an economic impact of nearly $250,000. Tulane also finished seventh nationally in the Helper Helper rankings, the Green Wave's 10th consecutive year in the top 10.
"We are thrilled to elevate Forrest to this critical leadership role within our department," said David Harris, Tulane's Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair. "His extensive experience, unwavering dedication, and genuine passion for student-athlete development embody the values we strive to uphold at Tulane. Barnes holds a Master of Science in Sport & Performance Psychology from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania-Lock Haven, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Tiffin University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Robert Morris University.
