Sep 23, 2026 | Cross Country
NEW ORLEANS – The week one USTFCCCA coaches poll has been released with the Tulane men tabbed No. 24. The Green Wave was No. 22 in the preseason voting.
Tulane amassed 77 voting points ahead of Princeton's 68, slotting the Tigers at No. 25. Tulsa is the only other American Conference program in the top 25, placing No. 21 in the poll. Oklahoma State remained at No. 1.
Both the Wave men and women are No. 2 in the regional rankings this week. They are each behind Arkansas in their respective South Central Region rankings. The men held steady in the second spot while the women moved up one spot from third. The Arkansas men are No. 16 nationally with the Razorback women placing No. 22.
The Wave opened the season over two weeks ago by hosting the Battle for New Orleans. Tulane swept the event with both the women's and men's squads earning dominant victories. On the women's side, Tulane tallied the top-two finishers and five of the top six alongside seven total in the top 10. For the men, Tulane had the top-two runners, nine of the top 10, and 10 of the top 12. Petra Dos Santos won the women's race with Silas Kiptanui breaking the tape in the men's race. They each claimed American Athlete of the Week recognition.
Tulane returns to action on Friday, September 25, with the 48th Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational. The event is hosted by Loyola Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The campaign gains momentum from here, as this weekend's competition kicks off a stretch of four-straight weekends of action for the Wave.
