Tulane Sits Atop Leaderboard After Two Rounds

NEW ORLEANS -Â Tulane women's golf sits atop the leaderboard after the first day of the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein on Tuesday at TPC Louisiana. The Green Wave posted a team score of 293 (+5) in both rounds to finish the day with a 586 (+10).
Francesca Pompa carded an even-par 72 in the opening round with three birdies before posting a 1-under 71 in the second round with six birdies. Her two-round total of 143 (-1) has her sitting in third place individually heading into the final round.
Sophia Macias also posted an even-par 72 in the opening round, recording five birdies. Macias followed with a 3-over 75 and three birdies in the second round to finish the day with a 147 (+3). This leaves her tied for eighth overall going into round three.Â
Sophia Chen followed with a 74 (+2) in the first round, recording one birdie. Chen improved in the second round, carding an even-par 72 with four birdies to finish the day with a 146 (+2). She enters the third and final round tied for sixth overall.Â
Daniela Montolio Reyes recorded a 75 (+3) in the opening round after posting one birdie. She finished the second round with an 80 (+8) and recorded two birdies for a two-round total of 155 (+11). Reyes ends the first two rounds tied for 37thoverall.Â
Cristina Albertazzi rounded out Tulane's starting lineup with an 81 (+9) in the first round. Albertazzi bounced back in the second round with a 75 (+3) and one birdie, finishing the day with a 156 (+12). She will be going into the final round of play tied for 43rd overall.Â
Competing as individuals for the Green Wave, Isabella Carter carded an 81 (+9) with two birdies in the opening round before posting an 87 (+15) with one birdie in the second round for a two-round total of 168 (+24). Carter finished her day in 66th overall heading into round three.Â
Bella Crespo also recorded an 81 (+9) in the first round. She improved by two strokes in the second round, carding a 79 (+7) with one birdie to finish the day with a 160 (+16). Crespo enters the final day of play tied for 53rd overall.Â
The third and final round of the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein will tee off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Wednesday at TPC Louisiana.
