Bio
2003-04: Won six individual dual-meet events and helped the relay teams post five wins...scored 34 individual points and 56 relay points at the Conference USA Championship, finishing personal-best and U.S. Open Cut times in the 100 fly (56.80) and 200 fly (2:04.47), to finish sixth and fifth, respectively...also posted a personal-best 2:08.40 in the preliminary of the 200 IM in the league meet, and her 25.39 in the 50 fly leadoff leg of the 200 medley relay was also a personal best...best outing came at Spring Hill (Feb. 8) when she won the 100 back (1:02.71), 200 back (2:12.29) and 400 IM (4:38.78) with a trio of season-best times.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Jordan High for coaches Marcie Wily and Jim Maxwell...named all-state in the 100 fly and 400 free relay as a sophomore and junior, and in the 200 IM and 200 medley relay as a senior...earn All-Pac 6 Conference honors all four years as a prepster...four-time state finalist finished third at the state high school meet in the 200 medley relay as a junior...also played two seasons for the Falcons volleyball team as a setter...away from the pool, was a member of the Peer Assistance Program and was a summer league swimming coach.
Club: Swam for North Carolina Aquatics since the age of six for coach Randy Erlenbach...qualified for the North Carolina Zone team in 2002.
Personal: Born Taylor Lauren Emerson on Jan. 6, 1985 in Conroe, Texas...daughter of Randall and Drew Emerson...has three sisters: Corey, Ellery and Schuyler...father, Randall, was a diving coach at the University of North Carolina, and mother Drew, played water polo at Texas A&M...chose Tulane over Clemson, East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington...majoring in exercise and sport sciences.
