2005: Played in 11 games with eight starts at defensive end. Collected 17 tackles (six solo), including five tackles for loss. Had three solo tackles, including two for loss and his lone sack of the year, against SMU (9/24). Notched season-bests of four tackles against both UTEP (10/14) and Navy (11/5). 2004: Played in all 11 games, starting the final nine at defensive tackle. Tallied 26 tackles (10 solo), two sacks and five pressures. Matched his career-high with five tackles (one solo) against Houston (10/30). A National Merit Scholar Finalist and a member of the National Honor Society. PERSONAL: Full name is Taurean Michael Brown. Born December 15, 1984, in Louisville, Ky. The son of Gary and Paula Brown. His father played basketball at Louisville, and his grandfather, Harry Sykes, played basketball at Kentucky State and with the Harlem Globetrotters. His uncle, Kermit Sykes, played football at Vanderbilt, as well as in the NFL. Majoring in legal studies. Named to the Conference USA Commissioner[apos]s Academic Honor Roll for 2002-03.
