Career: Three-year letter winner…played in 104 games her two seasons on the team…2-2 in pairs and 70-30 in dual matches…has seen time in the No. 1, 2, and 3 positions with 40 matches and a record of 28-12 at the No. 2 spot, and 27 matches with a record of 24-3 at the No. 3 spot...named Preseason All-Conference as a junior and selected to the 2017 CCSA All-Tournament Team, part of Tulane's first ever pair to earn this distinction.
2017: A Preseason All-Conference selection and a member of the CCSA All-Tournament Team…posted a 23-14 record in her junior season…played the first half of the year alongside Lan Nguyen, going 15-12 on court one and 2-1 on court two…partnered with Tarin Mergener for the remainder of the season to go 6-1 on court three with wins over No. 10 FIU (4/21) and No. 12 South Carolina (4/22)…went 3-1 at the CCSA Conference Championships in Emerson, Georgia, her sole loss to No. 4 Florida State…went 8-1 in the first two tournaments of the year…closed the season on a five-game winning streak.
2016: Finished the season with the third best record on the team, 26-9…played 28 games in the No. 2 position where she notched 20 of her 26 wins on the year with her partners Lan Nguyen and Brianna Correa…went on a six game win streak with Lan Nguyen in the middle of the season with five of the six wins coming off of straight sets…the team on Mertz and Nguyen had the second best overall team record, 23-8…she accumulated 9 wins against top 25 teams including #12 LSU (3/18), #9 Stetson (4/1), #8 Georgia State (4/23) and #10 FIU (4/22).
2015: In her debut campaign, Mertz tied her partner Lan Nguyen for the fourth most wins on the team with a 23-9 record ... Also tied for the most dual wins on the year at 21-7 ... Started the season at flight No. 1 (2-3), sliding down to flight No. 2 (6-3), before settling in at flight No. 3 (13-1) ... Tallied a 13-match win streak, the longest of anyone on the team in 2015 ... Picked up wins over pairs from top-10 schools Stetson and Georgia State ... Went 2-0 against Arizona State and Georgia State ... Went 2-2 at Fiesta on Siesta Key Tournament ... Earned 17 straight-set wins.
