Annual gifts to the Tulane Athletics Fund (T.A.F.) provide our student-athletes and programs with scholarships, equipment, team travel and recruiting expenses and support staff, among many other necessities. Through the Perpetual Wave Campaign, Tulane wants to raise the base for T.A.F. donations to $3 million annually.
Over the last several years, the Tulane Athletics Fund, which is the principal fundraising arm of the athletics department, has seen significant increases in annual donations, including raising a record-breaking $1.5 million in fiscal year 2003. Plans are under way to work in cooperation with several offices in the university to reach out to more alumni, as well as previously untouched members of the community. Hand-in-hand with an increase in annual donations is a rise in the number of T.A.F. contributors from our base support of about 2,000 donors as more individuals are made aware of the critical nature of their gifts to the future of Green Wave Athletics.
A successful outreach effort will have a positive effect on each and every aspect of the Perpetual Wave campaign. Goals of the outreach subcommittee include: increasing T.A.F. membership; reconnecting with the Tulane alumni base, as well as members of the local community; identifying prospects, focusing on the Tulane corporate community and sales of Green Team books; and serving as a resource for special projects.
