Nutrition is our "Secret Weapon" and is the first and most important link in the chain of Sports Performance. We believe without good nutritional habits, our student athletes cannot reach their full potential on and off the field. We believe in a food first approach by teaching our athletes to develop habits that will not only help them perform at the highest level within their respective sport, but also after their playing careers to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
With a challenging class, study, workout, and practice schedule, student athletes often miss the windows of opportunity to eat at the correct times to maximize energy, recovery, and performance. Our Sports Dietitian works with our student athletes to help them implement sports nutrition principles that will fuel their bodies correctly to give them an advantage over their opponents.
We also believe in the individual approach with student athletes and conduct comprehensive nutrition and body composition assessments to determine the best approach to take regarding personalized meal planning. Whether an athlete has food allergies, a medical condition that requires dietary attention, or specific food preferences, our Sports Dietitian will customize a plan that aligns with their personal needs.
We take a team approach to providing the best care for our student athletes as our team of Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, and Nutrition work together to create a culture that supports our fueling for Sports Performance principles. In addition to educating our athletes on the benefits of proper nutrition and following a "Food First" culture, we also believe in teaching principles of "Supplement Safety". With the abundance of dietary supplements on the market and the lack of regulation, we teach our student athletes how to determine which supplements are have been tested by a 3rd party so they comply with NCAA guidelines and avoid of the risk of taking a contaminated supplement.
