TPC Louisiana

Situated on 250 acres across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, the Tournament Players Club of Louisiana was designed by a man who knows how to turn a site with limited topography into a beautiful and compelling test of golf. Peter Dye, creator of the flagship layout for the PGA TOUR, the TPC at Sawgrass, was called on again to turn a tract of swampland into a pristine setting accented by lush fairways, perfectly manicured greens and a visually intimidating blend of natural and man-made hazards. The TPC of Louisiana offers five sets of tees, ranging from 5,200 yards to 7,600, the par 72 course features special touches, including tiny steep-faced bunkers in and around the fairways and challenging contouring around the greens. Because of the modest green complexes, the bunkers are set off from the putting surfaces with chipping areas between. Home to the PGA TOUR Zurich Classic, the TPC of Louisiana opened in April of 2004 and was named the No. 4 Upscale Public Golf Course in Golf Digest Magazine's annual listing of best new facilities in America.
Audubon Golf Course
![]() |
The oldest course in the South, the Audubon Golf Course is a scenic 18-hole public course situated among the ancient oak trees of Audubon Park. Golf has been played at Audubon since 1898, and with a recent $6 million renovation, Audubon provides visitors an opportunity to experience the history of the course as well as many modern amenities. Architect Denis Griffiths transformed the 81-acre plot into a clever 4,189-yard, par-62 course with 12 par 3s, four par 4s and two par 5s -- including the spectacular par-5 18th, which is protected on the left by one of four lagoons installed to improve drainage. The design encourages fun, speedy play, but the scenery makes hurrying hard. Locals frequent the running paths around the course enjoying the scenery and shade offered by the majestic old-growth oaks. Good golfers will find themselves challenged by the inventive design of the course, while recreational players will find the course very playable and endlessly interesting.
