Career Note: Fifth-year senior has 117 tackles (73 solo, 44 assists), five pass break-ups, three tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and a sack for his career...opens the fall as the team[apos]s starting strong safety.
2009: Played in 11 games as a junior, including 10 starts at free safety...finished second on the team in forced fumbles (2) while ranking tied for second in pass break-ups (4) while ranking third in tackles with 77 (47 solo, 30 assists), tied for fourth in sacks (1) and tied for 10th in tackles for loss (1.5)...posted a pair of double-digit tackle outings: tallying a career-high 14 (9 solo, 5 assists) vs Houston (10/17) and 10 (4 solo, 6 assists) vs UTEP (11/7)...had a game-clinching 21-yard sack in Tulane[apos]s 45-38 overtime win over the Miners...had a half tackle for loss among eight stops (3 solo, 5 assists) at Rice...also had eight-tackle games vs BYU (9/12), Marshall (10/10) and Southern Miss (10/24)...broke up passes vs BYU, Marshall, UTEP and Rice...forced a pair of fumbles and tallied six tackles vs McNeese State (9/26)...missed LSU game (10/31) due to injury.
