Andrew Neupert is in his first season as the Tulane football defensive graduate assistant.
Neupert arrives in Uptown after he spent the 2019 campaign at the University of Louisiana Monroe where he served as a defensive graduate assistant.
During his lone season at ULM, Neupert helped direct the Warhawks to 20 sacks which tied for fourth in the Sun Belt. He also coached Sun Belt All-Conference honorees Larance Shaw and Donald Louis.
Prior to his tenure at ULM, Neupert spent two seasons at Millsaps College where he served as the inside linebackers coach in 2018 season.
Neupert joined the Majors after spending one season at Nicholls State. While at Nicholls, he aided the defensive staff with film breakdown and assisted with coaching the defensive backfield unit that led the Southland Conference in interceptions.
Before arriving at Nicholls, Neupert coached the offensive line at his alma mater, Archbishop Rummel High School in Louisiana in 2015. He helped lead the Raiders to a phenomenal 11-2 season where they were New Orleans Catholic League champions, Louisiana state champion runners-up, and they were nationally ranked in the top 25 by both USA Today and Max Preps.
In 2013, Andrew began his coaching career with the Archbishop Rummel’s Junior High football team where he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. That team finished the season with a 7-2-1 record and pitched four consecutive shutouts to opposing offenses. Also in 2013, Neupert spent the spring and summer working as a football operations intern with the Arena Football League’s New Orleans VooDoo.
A native to New Orleans, Andrew graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2016, as he earned his bachelors degree in secondary education.
