New Orleans native Chad Jenkins enters his fourth season with the Tulane football staff, but the 2014 campaign will mark his second as a graduate assistant coach for the Green Wave defense. Jenkins spent the 2011 season as a volunteer coach for the Wave.
Jenkins, 25, came to Tulane from his alma mater, Alabama State, where he served as a quality control coach from 2009-11. His duties included assisting the offensive coordinator with scripts, game plans and assisting with recruiting information.
During the summer of 2010, he worked with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars where he served as an operations intern during the 2010 training camp. During his brief tenure with the Jaguars, he worked closely with the travel coordinator and equipment operations with the numerous facets of an NFL training camp.
Jenkins received his bachelor's degree in business management from Alabama State in 2009 and earned his master's degree in sports and fitness management from Troy University in 2011.
Jenkins is a 2005 graduate of St. Augustine High School and was a member of St. Aug's famed "Marching 100" band.
