Duane Price begins his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Tulane defense in 2008. Price comes to Tulane from Texas A&M Consolidate High School where he spent the last five years as an assistant football coach, and helped the team to a pair of state quarterfinal campaigns in 2002 and 2005. Prior to that, he spent one year at Bellville High School. Price was a four-year letterwinner for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in both football (1994-97) and baseball (1995-98). On the gridiron, Price starred as a defensive back on three bowl teams, including the Cotton Bowl (1994), the Copper Bowl (1995) and the Alamo Bowl (1996), and helped Tech to a Southwest Conference title in 1994. He was named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions. On the diamond, Price played centerfield for the Red Raiders baseball team, and helped the team to the 1997 Big 12 Conference Championship. Following his collegiate career, he was drafted in the 20th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Cincinnati Reds organization and spent the 1998 and 1999 seasons in the minor leagues. A native of College Station, Texas, Price received his bachelor[apos]s of science degree in exercise and sports science from Tech in 1999, and earned his master[apos]s degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2003. He and his wife, Becca, have one son, Chilton (5).
