JT Cleveland is in his first season with the Tulane football program. Previously, he spent three seasons at Blinn College where he served as the Defensive Line Coach, Co-Defensive Coordinator, and Defensive Run-Game coach.
During his time at Blinn, the Bucs ranked first in points per game allowed during the 2015 season and individual players received Defensive Player of the Year awards in both 2016 and 2017. The defensive line starters totaled 311 tackles, 40 tackles for loss, 28 sacks, five forced fumbles and two blocked kicks during the 2017 season. Blinn won the conference championship and appeared in the NJCAA playoff that season.
Cleveland coached a total of nine Division-I defensive linemen during his three seasons at Blinn College, and 11 all-conference selections among the front four.
Cleveland played on the defensive line at Sam Houston State and was voted team captain on the 2011 and 2012 teams. He was also named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in 2009 and 2012 and won multiple all-conference honors. He was named a Phil Steele All-American in 2011 and preseason All-American in 2012.
Cleveland received his bachelor of science degree from Sam Houston State University in industrial technology with a minor in sociology in May 2013. Originally from Baytown, Texas, he is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts Degree at Tulane University.
