Mike McCarthy enters his second season with the Tulane football program as a graduate assistant for the offense in 2013.
McCarthy, 28, comes to the Crescent City after spending the last two years at Western Michigan as the video coordinator for the Broncos[apos] football team. He handled all video-related duties for the program, including practice footage cut ups and serving as the team[apos]s liaison to all opponents in terms of video sharing.
McCarthy joined the Broncos after serving as a video, coaching and scouting intern with the New York Jets.
Prior to working in the NFL, McCarthy served as the football video assistant at Rutgers from 2007-10. He also coached at his alma mater during the 2006 season, serving as the junior varsity outside linebacker coach at Widener. McCarthy also coached at the College of New Jersey in 2009, serving as the offensive line coach.
McCarthy is a 2007 graduate of Widener University where he served as the team[apos]s linebacker and long snapper. He earned a bachelor[apos]s of science in business administration with a concentration in sports management and completed his master[apos]s degree in sports management at WMU in 2012.
The East Brunswick, N.J., native married the former Catherine Hayes on July 8, 2011.
