Fall 2003: Teamed with Patrizio Maucci to capture the doubles title at the Ragin[apos] Cajun Invitational in November. Finished the fall with a 6-6 singles record and a 5-3 doubles mark.
Spring 2003: Registered a solid 11-10 singles record. Posted a 5-2 mark in his last seven regular-season decisions. Had a key singles victory against Charlotte in the Conference USA Quarterfinals. Clinched the victory against No. 50 William & Mary at the Blue-Gray Classic with a win at No. 6. Notched a 5-8 mark in doubles action. Teamed with Jorge Lievano for an 8-5 win at third doubles to help the Wave to an upset victory over No. 6 Vanderbilt.
Fall 2002: Posted a 3-5 singles mark and a 4-2 doubles record.
Spring 2002: Saw action at four different singles positions, posting a 12-13 overall mark. Teamed with Jorge Lievano for a solid 10-7 mark in doubles action.
Prep: A 1999 graduate of Classical High School of Tampere. Advanced to the final 16 of the Finnish National Championship last summer. Earned medals in team play as well as in the U-18 Juniors. Ranked in the top 40 in Finland.
Personal: Born June 13, 1980 in Tormo, Finland. The son of Martti and Ritva Piiroinen. Has an older sister, Heidi. Also enjoys skiing. A double major in finance and marketing.
