2003: Moved into the starting tailback role for the last three games of the year. Tallied 377 rushing yards on 82 carries in 12 games, including 308 yards in the final three games. Also had five catches for 15 yards. Made his first career start against UAB (11/8) and responded with 183 rushing yards (26 carries) and two touchdowns, including breaking an 85-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory for the Wave. Also rushed 21 times for 85 yards in the season finale against East Carolina (11/22).
2002: Worked as Tulane[apos]s second team running back behind Mewelde Moore. Ranked second on the Green Wave with 168 yards on 38 carries for a team-high average of 4.4 yards per carry. Scored on a seven-yard run versus UL-Monroe (10/5) for his lone touchdown of the year. Also caught five passes for 16 yards, including a 27-yarder in the Cincinnati game (10/12). Set season-highs with 11 carries for 42 yards versus Southern Miss (11/23). Averaged more than seven yards per carry versus Texas (9/28) with three rushes for 23 yards.
HIGH SCHOOL: All-county running back and linebacker as a senior. All-conference selection at linebacker. For his high school career, totaled 3,047 rushing yards and scored 37 touchdowns, caught passes for 1,522 yards and 19 scores, and made 322 tackles and tallied 29 sacks. Earned 1,200 rushing yards and scored 17 touchdowns his senior season. Caught nine touchdown passes and totaled 715 receiving yards. On defense, made 112 tackles, had nine sacks and intercepted a pair of passes. Picked off a pass in the Palm Pinellas All-Star Classic and returned it for the game-winning score. As a junior, rushed for 976 yards and scored nine touchdowns. Grabbed six touchdown passes with 431 receiving yards. Made 117 tackles, sacked the quarterback 12 times and picked off three passes. Team made the playoffs in each of his last two seasons. Coached by Al Davis. Also lettered in basketball, where he was team MVP his sophomore and junior seasons. MVP and captain of the track team as a junior.
PERSONAL: Born November 22, 1983. The son of Henry and Lillie Jackson. Member of the 3.0 Club and earned the Bright Future Scholarship. Attended the same school as former Green Wave star quarterback Shaun King. Majoring in media arts.
