2005: Saw his only action of the season versus Marshall (10/29). Completed two-of-five passes for 49 yards, including a career-long 38-yard connection. Continued to battle arm and shoulder problems which limited his practice reps throughout the season.
2004: Did not see any action while rehabilitating injuries.
2003: Saw action in four games as the backup to J.P. Losman. In the Navy game (11/1), completed his only two passes of the year, including a six-yard touchdown connection with Bubba Terranova. Also saw action at QB against Army (9/20), Texas (9/27) and Memphis (10/25).
2002: Took a redshirt season after injuring his knee during preseason practices.
HIGH SCHOOL: Named to the All-River Parishes squad and was an All-District 6-5A selection. Selected as the Nokia Sugar Bowl Player of the Year for 2001. Finalist for the Wendy[apos]s High School Heisman. One of the Times-Picayune[apos]s Top 15 Blue Chip players. Selected to Max Emfinger[apos]s All-America team. Passed for 33 touchdowns and 2,730 yards as a senior. Completed 151-of-234 passes with only six interceptions. Rushed 63 times for 428 yards and three scores. Tallied a pair of 300-yard passing games. Top rushing game of his senior season included six carries for 127 yards. Led Hahnville to the Class 5A regional championship and state quarterfinals. Two-time all-district basketball player. Also finished third in the javelin at the regional track meet.
PERSONAL: Full name is Nickolas LaMon Cannon. Born October 25, 1983, in Marrero, La. The son of Helen and Minnon Cannon. Earned academic all-state honors as well as being listed in Who[apos]s Who Among American High School Students for four years. Majoring in exercise science. Named to the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll for 2003-04.
