2001: Joined the Green Wave in the spring of 2001 after transferring from Oklahoma. Injured his knee in spring drills and missed the entire season.
At Oklahoma: Played in 10 games as a true freshman in 1998, recording 19 tackles, including 14 unassisted, while playing mostly special teams. Also had three tackles for loss and forced one fumble. Had his best game of the season against Iowa State, collecteing seven tackles (five solo). Also had five tackles (four unassisted)against Baylor. Played in three games for the Sooners in 1999, recording one tackle.
High School: A 1998 graduate of M.B. Smiley High School. Saw action at linebacker, defensive end, tight end and fullback during his career for Coach Nathaniel Sylvester. A two-time first-team all-district selection. In three years as a starter, averaged 10 tackles per game. Also recorded six interceptions and seven fumble recoveries during his career.
Personal: Born November 22, 1979 in Houston, Texas. The son of O.D. Simpson and Ester Branch.
