HIGH SCHOOL: A 1999 graduate of South Lafourche High School in Cutoff, La., where he was coached by Nessie Pierce. Earned first team all-parish honors, as well as all-district and all-state distinction. Selected to play in the East-West All-Star Game. A three-time high school academic All-American. Outstanding track and field performer who won state titles in discus and javelin while finishing third in the shot put.
