First team all-region player as a safety and named to the second team all-region squad as a wide receiver. Named to the 2005 all-state team at receiver and was an honorable mention choice at quarterback. Earned first team all-county and all-area honors. Was an all-region choice on both offense and defense as a junior. Served as team captain in 2005 and was named team MVP. Three-year starter for the Class 5A school. His senior season, credited with 35 tackles, six interceptions and 10 pass break-ups. Returned three of his INTs for scores. On offense, made 30 catches for 650 yards (21.7 avg.) with 12 receiving TDs. Totalled 1,500 all-purpose yards as a junior after compiling 900 all-purpose yards his sophomore season. Added 40 tackles with eight pass break-ups as a sophomore. Union Grove advanced to the state playoffs his senior and sophomore seasons and posted a 9-3 record in 2005. Also lettered in track and field where he earned team MVP honors the past two seasons. Member of the Student Council who is listed in 'Who[apos]s Who Among America[apos]s Top High School Students.'
