Moon Ursin enters her third season at Tulane as a member of the coaching staff in 2024. She moved to the role of Assistant Coach / Director of Player of Development in April of 2024. She previously served as the Assistant Director of Student Athlete Development and Video/Assistant Coach for the 2023-24 season and as the Student Assistant Coach during the 2022-23 campaign.
In 2023-24, Tulane was the top free throw shooting team in the AAC (76.8) while ranking among the league leaders in the conference in assists per game (15.8 - 1st), field goal percentage (41.8 - 5th) and three-point percentage (31.8). The program set a new record with 231 made threes and saw Kyren Whittington ranked fifth in the conference in scoring at 17.4 points per game.
In 2022-23, Tulane ranked second in the league in both field goal percentage (41.8) and field goal percentage defense (36.5). The program also placed in the top-three in the conference in made three-pointers per game (2nd – 6.7), three-point percentage (3rd - 31.0) and three-point defense (3rd – 26.8).
Ursin stepped into the student assistant role after playing one season with the Green Wave in 2021-22. The Destrehan, Louisiana, native led Tulane in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (8.5) in her lone season in Uptown as she helped the Wave earn a berth to the WNIT. She also earned First Team All-American Athletic Conference selection and was named the 2022 AAC Newcomer of the Year.
Prior to her lone season playing in Uptown, Ursin spent four seasons at Baylor playing 127 career games and scoring more than 700 points. While playing for the Bears, she aided Baylor win the 2019 NCAA National Championship plus make a run to the Elite Eight in 2021. Ursin also aided Baylor to four regular season Big 12 Championships and three Big 12 Tournament Championship titles. During her four seasons with the Bears, she earned Second Team All-Big 12 Conference in 2021 and was selected to the Big 12 All-Rookie team in 2018.
During her prep career, Ursin became the first player to ever secure three Gatorade Player of the Year Awards in Louisiana. She was also a three-time First Team All-State selection and named All-USA Louisiana Player of the Year in 2017. As a senior, Ursin led Destrehan High School to a Class 5A State Championship in 2017 with a 35-0 record. She averaged 27.6 points, 14.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 5.6 steals and 4.1 blocks per game.
