2016-2017 Season (Junior): Named to Tulane University's Spring 2017 Dean's List
2015-2016 Season (Sophomore): Sarah Forton picked up right where she left off at the end of her impressive rookie campaign, bowling the third-highest games among all Green Wave bowlers (40), along with senior Hannah Harrison, while picking up the second highest average on the team (186.58). Forton recorded her season-high of 234 pins at the Prairie View A&M Invitational against Stephen F. Austin.
2014-2015 Season (Freshman): Sarah Forton recorded a 191.48 pin average over 29 games bowled in her freshman season. She recorded a career-high of 257 pins against Monmouth in February at the Stormin' Lady Jack Classic in Houston, Texas. She placed third overall in total pins, and led the Green Wave in pin average for the season. Her career average is third-best overall in Green Wave history, trailing Kierstyn Rush's 264 pin score during that same tournament, and Michelle Ng's 289 score against Vanderbilt back in October. Forton placed 101st at the Junior Gold Championships after four rounds of play, recording a 179.42 pin average through 20 games, missing the top 48 cut to advance to the Final Advancers round.
HIGH SCHOOL: Sarah graduated from Dakota High School in Macomb, Mich., in 2014, with the achievement of Summa Cum Laude (3.963 GPA). She participated in Varsity Tennis as part of Dakota's #1 Doubles pair for three years, and Varsity Bowling for four years, where she was awarded All State individual, Scholar Athlete Award, and All-Academic team honors in her senior year. She received All-Conference and All-Macomb County honors for both sports every year she participated in them. Forton received four top-5 finishes in her high school bowling career. Sarah participated in the Junior Gold Championships after her junior and senior years. She placed in 454th place after three rounds, recording a 160.93 pin average through 15 games, after her senior year, and 248th place after three rounds in her junior year, collecting a 173.53 pin average. She did not qualify for the Advancers round either time. Away from the lanes, Sarah participated and held the title of President in Business Professionals of America, Volunteered at the Medical Academy at Henry Ford Hospital, was a member of National Honor Society, received the Ambassador Torch Award, State Award, and National Award for Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference, and Dakota High School Pinnacle Award, and was a Defense Attorney in Teen Court.
