Bio
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Newark High for coach M.J. Polaski...earned All-America honors in the 100 breast, 200 IM and 400 free relay as a senior, helping the Yellow Jackets set a state record in the event...also won state titles in the 100 breast, 200 IM and 200 free relay at the state meet in 2004...earned first-team all-state honors her final two prep seasons...set school records in the 100 breast , 200 medley relay, and the 200 and 400 free relays...away from the pool, was a member of the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society, and received the AAUW award for excellence in science and math.
Club: Swam for Delaware Swim Team under coach Jay Lynch...qualified for Junior Nationals for the first time at age 13 in the 100 breast...competed in the 2004 Spring Nationals in the 400 medley relay...best times are 1:05.78 in the 100 breast, 2:23.95 in the 200 breast and 2:07.31 in the 200 IM.
Personal: Born Sarah Elizabeth Zomchick on July 1, 1986 in Knoxville, Tenn...daughter of John Zomchick and Cathy Matson...chose Tulane over Brown, Emory, Maryland and Columbia...proposed major is life sciences.
