Dan Kane joined Tulane Athletics in 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in live television and sports production to the department. In his role, Dan contributes to the day-to-day operations of Green Wave broadcasts, helping manage live productions for ESPN+ and other platforms. He works closely with students, staff, and production crews to deliver high-quality coverage of Tulane’s athletic events.
Before joining Tulane, Dan Kane spent eight years at WHDH Channel 7 News in Boston, where he served as a Director, Associate Director, and Stage Manager. There, he led live newscasts, breaking news coverage, and news specials—overseeing timing, graphics, and crew coordination in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. He also played a key role in onboarding and training new team members and represented the station in special productions, including the Boston Pops Fourth of July Spectacular.
In addition to his news background, Dan worked for Red Sox Productions at Fenway Park from 2015 to 2023. He operated cameras and supported video control room operations for Red Sox home games and major events such as the 2018 World Series, NHL Winter Classic, Fenway Bowl, and Notre Dame Football at Fenway. He was recognized by the Red Sox Team President for his dedication to fan engagement.
Young Dan’s career began in collegiate athletics, producing broadcasts for Harvard University and the University of North Carolina. His work aired on ESPN3, NESN, and the Ivy League Digital Network. At UNC, he was part of the team awarded the College Sports Media Award for “Best Live Broadcast by a Collegiate Athletics Department.”
A native of Massachusetts, Dan is a member of the Directors Guild of America
