Dr. Victoria Elia is in her fifth year at Tulane University as the primary baseball medical contact. She worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in her first four years and was promoted to the role of Senior Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2025. Elia joined the staff on December 4, 2020 and works primarily with the Green Wave's baseball team. Elia has served as an adjunct professor in the School of Professional Advancement since Fall 2022, where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses.
Elia is also published as a primary author in the research article "The Reliability of the Titan 1+10 Hz Global Positioning System for Measures of Distance and Distance within Speed Zones" in the International Journal of Strength and Conditioning (January 2024).
In October 2024, her journal article ‘The Accuracy of the Titan 1+ 10 Hz Global Positioning System for Measures of Time, Distance, and Top Speed’ was published in the International Journal of Strength and Conditioning.
In April of 2023, she was published as a co-author in the research article "Folate-Dependent Hypermobility Syndrome: A Proposed Mechanism and Diagnosis" in Heliyon.
Elia joined the staff after she spent the 2019-20 seasons serving as the assistant athletic trainer at Houston Baptist University where she worked with the baseball, men’s soccer and football teams.
Prior to her time at Houston Baptist, Elia spent three years (2016-19) as an assistant athletic trainer at Texas A&M University – Kingsville.
Elia earned her master’s degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and her bachelor’s of science from Lasell College.
